Casablanca – EngLead Global organized “Unmute Your Value – A Global Leadership Conversation,” a curated leadership event yesterday at Technopark Casablanca. It focused on women’s leadership, self-advocacy, and global impact.

Held in partnership with Technopark Morocco, the event featured a conversation between U.S. Consul General Marissa Scott and Manal El Attir, founder of EngLead Global and Womenomics Institute.

The event focused on a challenge many women face. Although they have the skills and potential to lead, some hold back because of self-doubt or lack of confidence. Its primary aim is to empower participants to fully recognize their expertise and turn it into tangible impact.

Through a podcast-style conversation, speakers explored the underlying reasons that often prevent women from stepping into their full potential and shared practical tips for overcoming these barriers and confidently owning their value.

The discussion emphasized that women’s voices are not meant to be silenced, but are powerful tools that can shape the world, bringing influence and change.

In an exclusive interview with Morocco World News (MWN), Ms. Scott highlighted the importance of women embracing their leadership and asserting their value.

“It’s an imperative that women express themselves and their value not only in the workplace but in every space where they are present.”

“Without women’s voices at the table,” she added, “we are literally losing half of the sky, half of the population. So what can ever be done when there’s only 50% of participation? We need to have the whole and that means having women at the table.”

The conversation stood out for its engaging and empowering tone, as both speakers openly shared personal experiences, challenges, and defining moments that shaped their leadership journeys.

They stressed that women should not wait for systems to become fair and that real change begins when women take ownership of their paths and step forward with confidence.

They also highlighted that women can embrace multiple roles without limitation. Being a mother and caring for a family does not prevent women from pursuing other ambitions, as they can move beyond societal expectations and succeed both professionally and personally.

Shifting mindset is important as well, encouraging women to move beyond self-doubt and societal expectations. Rather than internalizing limitations such as impostor syndrome, participants were urged to believe in their abilities and build new patterns of confidence and growth.

Ensuring that language is never a barrier to self-actualization

Following the conversation, the audience had the opportunity to participate in an interactive Q&A, sharing their perspectives and insights on empowering women’s leadership. Attendees also engaged in networking, connecting with like-minded women leaders and exchanging experiences and ideas.

The event also registered the graduation of the EngLead Global Accelerator, celebrating a distinguished cohort of women who, over several months, developed their executive presence, strengthened communication confidence, and enhanced cross-cultural leadership skills.

Two graduates shared how the program was a turning point in their lives. It enabled them to move from hesitation in expressing themselves in English to confidently using it as a tool for leadership. One participant is now pursuing a doctorate in Business Administration in English, reflecting the program’s long-term impact.

At its core, EngLead Global is a platform for women professionals in francophone and Arabic-speaking markets who often feel limited when English enters the room. Its mission is to help these women bring their full confidence, presence, and personality into English, ensuring that language never becomes a barrier to realizing their full impact.

Speaking to MWN, Ms. El Attir, reflected on the importance of women recognizing their value, celebrating it, and expanding their presence beyond local spaces.

“Today’s conversation was about how do we, as women, recognize our value, celebrate it, and be able to not only conquer the spaces where we are, but also be comfortable going global,” she said.

Initiatives like EngLead Global demonstrate that conversations around women’s empowerment should not be confined to a single day. They should be sustained through continuous action and meaningful opportunities for growth. International Women’s Day may have passed, but the impact of women continues to be visible and felt every day.
