Published: 01:14, 17 June 2026 | Updated: 01:15, 17 June 2026 A criminal defense lawyer, who was arrested for a road rage fight where he allegedly attacked another man's van, has had sordid brushes with the law in the past, the Daily Mail can reveal. Richard Craven, 46, an attorney in Acworth, Georgia, has been identified by police as the man recorded punching a driver's van side door and window in May. The road rage incident occurred May 7 near the intersection of North Main Street and Jiles Road - and soon went viral as police tried to track down the culprit. Craven remained unidentified until last week, when community responses helped identify him as the man in the video posted by the Kennesaw Police Department. He's now been charged with a second-degree felony of criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor of disorderly conduct.  But this isn't his first run in with the law, the Daily Mail can reveal.  Craven was apprehended by police for allegedly 'shaking his genitals' in the view of onlookers in a park who called the police in May 2024, according to a police report. The lawyer was issued a criminal trespass warning after a woman allegedly observed Craven urinate into a cup near Swift-Cantrell Park.  Richard Craven, 46, criminal defense lawyer recently arrested for second-degree Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct in Kennesaw, Georgia Craven was identified through community tips to the Kennesaw Police Department from a viral video of the incident The complainant stated Craven proceeded to walk around 'shaking' his manhood before putting it back inside his pants, adjusting himself, and walking away.  According to the filings, Craven was stopped by a responding officer who found him based on the witness's description of a male in camouflage pants walking towards a red SUV.  The officer noticed a QuikTrip cup which appeared to hold urine in the car's center console, the document stated. Craven initially denied the allegations before later admitting to it, saying he could not 'hold it anymore,' the report read. He signed a criminal trespass warning and left to go on his way.  Another report from 2006 shows Craven was issued a reckless conduct citation for a separate road rage incident. In this instance, Craven was behind a vehicle on Cobb Parkway, where he allegedly continuously sounded his horn, gestured his middle finger, and yelled at the driver, calling her a 'f***ing bitch.' The responding officer met with Craven who explained he was 'running late' and being 'an a**hole' by sounding his horn, yelling, and giving the finger, according to the document. Craven claimed he did not realize his actions were illegal. Craven has had multiple reported incidents with the law On May 7, Craven allegedly repeatedly hit a van containing Joshua Lapann and Jason Stroup while allegedly screaming multiple things including, 'I'll kill you' and 'Enjoy the dents on your door' The officer reported Craven 'impatiently' yelling out of his vehicle window in protest of the citation and that he needed to be warned to not exit his vehicle.     Craven's alleged previous behavior in 2006 is similar to the altercation that he is accused of being involved in this May.  Joshua Lapann, one of the passengers of the damaged truck, claimed the vehicle was going the 25 mile-per-hour speed limit in front of Craven.  Craven allegedly made use of his horn, yelled, and passed the truck, before getting stuck at a red light. 'I thought it was uncalled for,' Lapann told the Daily Mail. 'Going 25 in a 25 mile-per-hour zone, there's no reason to be acting the way he did.'  Craven then allegedly got of his car and rolled up his license plate before approaching the van and repeatedly punching the driver side door. Although the video posted online had no audio, according to Lapann, Craven screamed multiple things including, 'I'll kill you' and 'Enjoy the dents on your door.' Lapann said that the damage made to the van would be approximately $1,000. Craven allegedly turned himself into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on June 10 and released the same evening on a $2,500 cash bond.   The Daily Mail reached out to the Craven Law Group LLC multiple times regarding the recent incident as well as his past brushes with the law, but received no comment.  No comments have so far been submitted.
