قال وزير الطاقة والنفط، محمد خالد، في مؤتمر صحفي طارئ للحكومة، إن الحكومة الموريتانية دعمت المحروقات منذ بداية الحرب في إيران بما يعادل 13 مليار أوقية، وتتحمل دعم كل لتر من المازوت بـ233 أوقية قديمة، وهو ما يشكل عبئًا على ميزانية الدولة.

وأضاف الوزير أن استمرار الحرب وارتفاع أسعار الطاقة قد يرفع دعم غاز البوتان إلى نحو 45 مليار أوقية، مشيرًا إلى أن أسعار البنزين ارتفعت عالميًا بأكثر من 80% منذ اندلاع الحرب.

وأشار ولد خالد، أن الحكومة اتخذت إجراءات تمس دعم المحروقات بناءً على دراسات أُجريت مؤخرًا، وتتوقع من خلالها خفض أسعار المحروقات في بداية العام، موضحًا أن مخزون البلاد من المحروقات يكفي لأشهر عدة، وأن ما يُتداول حول نقص الوقود مجرد شائعات.

ولفت وزير الطاقة إلى أن موريتانيا لا تستورد البترول الخام وإنما مشتقاته، وأسعار هذه المشتقات تختلف عن سعر الخام، مؤكّدًا حرص الحكومة على متابعة الوضع لضمان استقرار الأسواق وحماية المواطنين من أي تداعيات محتملة
