By CANDACE SUTTON, SENIOR NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA Published: 02:28, 19 August 2026 | Updated: 02:28, 19 August 2026 Creditors are circling six trophy homes worth a combined $200million from the Tzaneros family's vast property portfolio, as their multibillion-dollar shipping and logistics empire collapses. The Commonwealth Bank holds financial claims over Tzaneros mansions in Sydney's elite eastern suburbs, including a $61million Bellevue Hill estate with its own cricket pitch and a $38million waterfront home in Point Piper, reports the AFR. According to Nine Newspapers, the properties are tied to business loans 'securing unregulated credit' and include homes in Bondi, Vaucluse and Dover Heights. The Tzaneroses made their fortune managing transport and storage for retailers like Coles, Woolworths, Bunnings, Ikea and Officeworks - but ACFS Port Logistics collapsed into administration in early August. The freight giant, which currently owes $60million to the Australian Taxation Office, was founded by Terry Tzaneros and run by his billionaire CEO son Arthur Tzaneros. The wider family is also well-known in Sydney high society. Terry's two daughters, Maree and Barbara, are respectively married to Andrews Meat heir Peter Andrews and property tycoon Michael Coombes. Terry has three sons: Arthur, married to Maude; Anthony, married to Poppy O'Neil, who is the daughter of Rose Bay Marina owner Denis O'Neil; and Michael, whose wife Steffanie is a former international model turned influencer. Last year, Arthur and Maude sold their palatial Vaucluse estate for $45million, finding a buyer after almost two years on the market and a $10million price cut. The Tzaneros family's freight empire has collapsed, putting at risk the properties owned as personal assets. (Left to right, family members Barbara, Maude, Poppy, Steffanie and Maree) One of the personal family assets at risk if the company liquidates is 81 Balfour Road, Bellevue Hill, worth up to $17million One of the heirs is Michael Tzaneros, pictured above with his influencer wife, Steffanie The business loan mortgages on the remaining homes make the Commonwealth Bank the secured creditor, under conditions that fall outside the national credit code governing typical residential mortgages. The bank took security over the homes after extending business loans to the family, Nine reported. Arthur and Terry, who founded the company in 2005, are now attempting to recapitalise the business and return it to family ownership. However, the family suffered another setback when Arthur was forced to step down as CEO this week following WhatsApp comments he made about the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl by Scots College students. In a Scots Old Boys' group chat, Arthur reportedly described the alleged victim as a 'willing participant', the rape allegation as 'fake news', and wrote 'this is no Skaf case', referring to the pack rapes committed in 2000 by the Skaf brothers and their gang. Arthur Tzaneros has since deleted the comments and apologised, admitting to 'a complete lack of sensitivity to that situation', while his father has taken over as CEO. Beyond the troubled family business, the housing loan arrangements for the family's personal assets also appear at risk if ACFS is liquidated. ACFS creditors were scheduled to meet on Tuesday with the appointed administrators to discuss the company's future. Another of the Tzaneros family personal assets is this Kambala Road mansion in Bellevue Hill, which cost $61million three years ago, and has its own cricket pitch Poppy Tzaneros, who is the daughter of Rose Bay Marina owner Denis O'Neil, is married to Anthony Tzaneros, one of three male heirs to the family freight company fortune Billionaire CEO Arthur Tzaneros (pictured in Mykonos, Greece) was forced to step down amid the company crisis after his comments in a WhatsApp group for Scots Old Boys emerged Arthur Tzaneros and his father Terry, who has stepped in as CEO while his son cools his heels The Tzaneros family intends to ask creditors for the opportunity to regain control of the business. Before stepping down, Arthur Tzaneros posted on the ACFS website that 'the Tzaneros family… remains fully committed to recapitalising the business'. He blamed several factors for the company's collapse, including 'cash flows of the business', 'disbursement costs on inferior terms', 'increased industrial leasing costs' and 'material overdue debts to ACFS Australia beyond agreed credit terms'.
