Cowboys get two surprises on Day 1 of NFL Draft, led by taking Caleb Downs

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys received two big surprises Thursday.The first was that star wide receiver George Pickens is expected to sign his franchise tag. The second is that standout Ohio State safety Caleb Downs was still on the board at Pick 11 in the first round of the NFL Draft.Two hours before the draft started, news surfaced that Pickens will sign the $27.3 million tender.
