Coach Jared Bednar not traveling with Avalanche after taking puck to face vs. Vegas

Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar won’t travel with his team on its upcoming road trip as he recovers from being hit in the face by a puck during Saturday night’s home game against the Vegas Golden Knights.Bednar was struck after Golden Knights forward Keegan Kolesar errantly shot the puck into the Avalanche bench. The Avalanche coach suffered facial fractures and a corneal abrasion after the puck hit him on the right side of his face, the team announced in a statement released Sunday morning.Advertisement
