China is suspected of funding pro-Palestine marches across Britain, a new investigation has revealed.
American congressional investigators have launched a probe into alleged money channelled through Code Pink, a left-wing feminist protest organisation with roots in the US.
The inquiry, which forms part of a broader foreign interference investigation, centres on the group's financial ties to Neville Roy Singham, a technology magnate who made £580million from the sale of his firm, Thoughtworks, in 2017.
Mr Singham faces multiple probes, including a federal grand jury investigation, over allegations that his network has produced propaganda on Beijing's behalf, the Telegraph revealed.
A congressional committee has claimed Code Pink, founded by his wife Jodie Evans, appeared to have been "funded and influenced by Mr Singham and the communist Chinese government".
The US investigation is scrutinising more than $250,000 (£190,000) in alleged payments made during 2020 and 2021 to a British company connected to Code Pink, from organisations said to be part of Mr Singham's network.
A further $94,950 (£70,000) was reportedly paid to the same firm in 2024 by the People's Support Foundation for "consulting services".
Jason Smith, who chairs the US Congress's Ways and Means Committee, told The Telegraph: "It's clear from the Ways and Means Committee investigation that Singham's money and influence does not stop at America's borders."
A congressional source added: "We are aware that China is funding pro-Hamas and leftists in the UK and the US. That is why we are investigating it and will continue to do so."
British parliamentarians responded by demanding the Government take immediate action.
Labour MP Sarah Champion said: "The UK needs to work with the US to investigate the payments, their influence and who is ultimately responsible. We need to present a united front with the US and show zero tolerance."
Conservative MP Alicia Kearns said: "The Government must urgently investigate these networks and make full use of the National Security Act to prosecute any unregistered individuals working on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party."

Shadow foreign secretary Priti Patel accused Beijing of "sowing division and instability in Britain by backing protests and subversive campaigns".
Tim Law, deputy director of UK-China Transparency and a former defence attaché to Beijing, warned that foreign-backed activism posed "a real risk to our democracy that must not be ignored by the authorities".
Code Pink has encouraged supporters to attend mass pro-Palestinian marches across Britain, staged protests at the Ministry of Defence and an arms company's London offices, and organised a demonstration at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, which has supported surveillance operations over Gaza.
The group has also campaigned for the closure of British military bases overseas.
Mr Singham has previously denied acting on China's behalf.
Code Pink has dismissed the allegations as "a big fat lie", with co-founder Medea Benjamin telling the Telegraph: "We get zero money from the Chinese Communist Party."
GB News has approached the organisation for further comment.
A Government spokesman said: "The first duty of government is to protect our national security. That is why we have brought forward some of the most robust measures to defend our country and democracy from state-backed threats.
"Protecting the UK’s democracy and democratic institutions is fundamental to our national security, and we will continue to take whatever action is necessary to safeguard them."
