Chilling six-word 'confession' from father who allegedly killed his disabled daughter after she wet the bed

Jan Hall, 79, recalled the terrifying moment that her husband Dennis Hall allegedly confessed to killing their wheelchair bound-daughter Devin Hall, 40, on June 11.  'When he woke me up, I asked him what was wrong, and he said, "I strangled Devin. She's dead." And I thought I didn't hear him right,' Jan told ABC 6.  She said she ran to perform CPR on her daughter who was then taken to hospital.  Devin was taken off of life support the very next day at around 3.18pm. Her cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation.  She died after Hall, 71, woke up and discovered his daughter had wet the bed in the early hours of last Thursday, police said. Devin had multiple disabilities and was unable to speak, according to her mother.  Franklin Township law enforcement responded to the family home at around 6.15am on reports of a person in cardiac arrest, the affidavit obtained by NJ.com stated.  Jan Hall, the grieving mother of 40-year-old Devin Hall, recalled the terrifying moment that her husband allegedly confessed to killing their daughter on June 11 Devin's father, 71-year-old Dennis Hall discovered his daughter had wet the bed in the early hours of last Thursday morning and strangled her, investigators said According to Jan, Devin suffered from multiple disabilities since birth, required a wheelchair and was unable to speak  He allegedly confessed to responding officers who arrived at the home. 'I would just like him to tell me why he did it,' Jan told ABC 6. 'He had an opportunity to come in and get me when he went in there and she had wet the bed.' 'He could've came and woke me up, and I could've helped him.'  According to Jan, Devin suffered from disabilities since birth and was unable to speak. 'I read a lot through her eyes,' she told the outlet. 'So I knew when something wasn't right with her and she could sense when something wasn't right with me.' The grief-stricken mother said her husband had also been experiencing mental health issues for around a year, and was undergoing treatment for depression. Jan said that she was overwhelmed by the loss of her daughter, and added: 'It's like hell.' 'I feel like I'm walking in a nightmare,' she said.  Jan, seen left with Devin's aunt Jane Cox on the right, described the loss of her daughter 'like hell' and as if she were 'walking in a nightmare' According to her obituary, Devin 'was an inspiration to others' and 'touched many with her beauty, gentle kindness and innocent presence' The grief-stricken mother said her husband had also been experiencing mental health issues for around a year, and was undergoing treatment for depression Devin's family described her as gentle and kind and said she had an infectious laugh.  'Devin was a beautiful soul. She never harmed anybody in her life,' Jane Cox, Devin's aunt, told the outlet.  According to her obituary, Devin 'was an inspiration to others' and 'touched many with her beauty, gentle kindness and innocent presence.' Noting that she loved to travel, Devin was said to have visited 32 states and also loved music 'especially Toby Keith,' whom she saw in concert when she was 25 years old.  'Her other favorites were being strolled on long walks with her mother and being peddled on her bike,' her obituary read.  'This precious child of God is now walking on streets paved with gold, completely whole and “safe” in the arms of Jesus.' Hall was booked into Salem County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault as he awaits a court hearing, according to online records. The comments below have not been moderated.
