The Brian Meehan-trained Grove Street ran a cracker on debut when narrowly edged out by Quest For Stars at Sandown last month. That race is working out particularly well, with Quest For Stars subsequently winning a good edition of the Stonehenge Stakes and the fourth King High subsequently taking a nice novice at Newbury.
Accordingly, Grove Street should take a lot of beating, although Avionics may give him something to think about. Andrew Balding's charge took a big step forward when running a nice race at Salisbury before disappointing at Ffos Las. However, he was clearly far too free to finish off his race that day and could progress further this afternoon if he can settle.

The Wootton Bassett filly La Bassette was given a considerate ride in a good race at Glorious Goodwood so maintains the potential to improve markedly. Of the others, George Boughey's newcomer Talamon is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Fev Rover and could make an encouraging debut if ready to go.

Since the removal of headgear, Gary and Josh Moore's charge has progressed with each run, including two facile wins on the bounce at Windsor. Under a penalty, he is now 11lbs higher since these two victories, yet he must remain well ahead of the handicapper judging by the way he has finished off these races. Jude Fernandes' 7lb claim could prove pivotal aboard this lad, who has shown a liking for this one mile trip.
The only other runner in-form is Henfield, who progressed nicely to get up by a short margin at Lingfield, and may provide chief opposition.
The most unexposed contender Perfect Ruler can post a career-best effort here as he was not seen to best effect at Redcar in May when running into trouble in the final furlong.

Spaceman is the least exposed and was very impressive when winning at Dunstall Park before running creditably on handicap debut. He can continue to progress and should be in contention to trouble the judge for the Fahey stable.
Inside Story posted a career-best effort when running on eye-catchingly to finish second over course and distance on his most recent start, and Haadeer still contains the potential to progress well this season if building on his respectable third at Doncaster last time out.
