Casemiro joins Inter Miami on free transfer

Casemiro has joined Inter Miami on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United.

The Brazil international has signed a deal that will see him through to the end of the 2027 MLS season and also includes an option to extend the contract until 2029.

Casemiro spent four years at Old Trafford, scoring in a League Cup final victory in 2023 and reaching two FA Cup finals, winning the competition in 2024. He was also part of the United side that reached the Europa League final in May 2025.

The 34-year-old signed for United in August 2022 and there was an option for the club to trigger a 12-month extension at the end of the season. However, Sky Sports News understands United decided not to take up that option nor renew his contract and it was a decision made well before the end of the season.

The Red Devils have added Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to their ranks this summer, and are believed to still be looking for a third midfielder.

Casemiro's Old Trafford career saw a resurgence over his last 18 months at the club, fighting his way back into the side having initially been unfavoured by former head coach Ruben Amorim. In his final season, the Brazilian had his most productive campaign in front of goal, scoring nine times including five in 15 games under Amorim's replacement Michael Carrick.
