Bulgarian national, 17, charged after man in his 60s was stabbed

A Bulgarian national has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed on a golf course in Stafford.
The man, in his 60s, was stabbed on a footpath near Stafford Castle Golf Course, Newport Road, just before 7pm on Thursday May, 14.
Staffordshire Police confirmed the man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Now, the 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, has been charged with attempted murder and theft from a shop.
A spokesman from Staffordshire Police said: "The 17-year-old boy is White and of Bulgarian nationality.
"He was arrested on Tuesday evening (19 May) and has been charged with attempted murder and theft from a shop. He can’t be named for legal reasons because of his age.
"He is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow (Saturday, May 23). The 30-year-old man arrested in connection with this investigation has been released with no further action."

The spokesman continued: "As legal proceedings are ongoing, please avoid speculation, assumptions, or public commentary regarding the matter."
Speaking last week, Stafford Borough local policing team commander Chief Inspector Saqib Butt told BirminghamLive: "If you live nearby or were passing through and have CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage, please take the time to review it and get in touch if you have anything that could assist our investigation.
"I would like to thank everyone who has already come forward with information.
"Your support is invaluable and we are continuing our inquiries today."
