Fernandes, 31, swept the vote after racking up two goals and four assists in four games across March.‌The United captain beat six of his Premier League colleagues to win the award, namely James Garner, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Gordon, Alex Iwobi, David Raya and Danny Welbeck. His form has helped cement Michael Carrick's side in the top five, as they bid to qualify for the Champions League.‌Only three players - Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Mo Salah - have won the Premier League POTM award more times than Fernandes. Ronaldo, meanwhile, won his sixth award in April 2022 during his second spell at United.‌His extraordinary longevity and legendary status at Old Trafford is partly why Fernandes continues to be inspired by his compatriot.
