Published: 10:25, 6 April 2026 | Updated: 10:25, 6 April 2026 Britain's poshest squatter who lives on the doorstep of a mansion in one of the country's most expensive postcodes has bemoaned screeching Lamborghinis that interrupt his sleep.  Anders Fernstedt has called the billionaire's row in London's Knightsbridge home after being made redundant - which comes complete with a £5,000 Fortnum & Mason hamper, designer Armani and Tom Ford clothes and dozens of house plants.  The 57-year-old lives in the portico of an abandoned and gutted 45-room £210million 'private place' that sprawls over 60,000 square feet.  It is Britain's most expensive home and allegedly owned by the disgraced Chinese billionaire and Communist Party Secretary Hui Ka Yan. It has reportedly sat unoccupied for a decade.  The Swedish national, who has befriended his wealthy neighbours, said a significant drawback of his self-made home comes in the grumbles and roars of the exhaust pipes of six-figure cars.  He told The Sun he is kept awake at night by the 'screech of Lamborghinis at midnight' and the clip-clop of hooves as horses leave Knightsbridge barracks.  The echoing sounds disturb his shut-eye in what he describes, his 'Mandarin Oriental luxury suite and a Hungarian down duvet' - which he moved to after he spent years sleeping in train stations and doorways.  Fernstedt, who comes from Sweden's tiny town of Borås, arrived in the UK in 1996 to study at Royal Botantic Garden Edinburgh having worked in the USA in software development at the dawn of the World Wide Web.  Anders Fernstedt has called the billionaire's row in London's Knightsbridge home after being made redundant Fernstedt lives in the portico Britain's most expensive home - allegedly owned by the disgraced Chinese billionaire and Communist Party Secretary Hui Ka Yan He has no family and found himself homeless after allegedly losing both his job and his houseboat around 2017 - but told the Daily Mail last year he lost his job as a botanist in 2023.  The Swede, who dresses in blazers and waistcoats, said he has never claimed benefits and has never been dependent on alcohol.  Fernstedt now seemingly lives the high life, spending his hours working out on gym bars he found in the street and showering for free in nearby Victoria - and is a stone's throw from the Royal Albert Hall.  He also immerses himself in novels by historian William Dalrymple and economists, and attends a nearby church as a practising Russian Orthodox Christian.  He uses the nearby church as his en-suite to the mansion, which was formerly owned by former Saudi Arabian crown prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz until his death in 2011.  Fernstedt is also showered by donations including free clothes, food and even an iPhone from his neighbours, who he claims enjoy him sharing the sought after area.  He is the only person sleeping rough outside the terraced houses of 2-8a Rutland Gate, as he believes his neighbours think 'one is none, but two is a Calais camp'.  Westminster City Council said Fernstedt intentionally made himself homeless. He has amassed a lucrative collection of items at his makeshift shelter on the steps of Britain's most expensive home The opportunist became the subject of a Crown Court trial last year after being caught embracing swans in Hyde Park. Southwark Crown Court heard how Fernstedt 'stroked, cuddled and kissed' after using food to allure the birds.  His avian encounters caught the attention of swan volunteer Jon Ferguson, who warned he could spread bird flu if he continued his antics.  When local resident Virginia Grey filmed Fernstedt's bird-hugging, he rammed his bike into her - causing her to stumble.  The court heard as Mr Ferguson apprehended Fernstedt, the Swede attacked him, leaving him needing stiches on the inside of his mouth, blurred vision and in need of painkillers for his bruised ribs following the March 30, 2023 incident.  Fernstedt was sentenced to a 15-month community order with a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement which the judge said would focus his mind.    The squatter, who is nicknamed 'The Swan Whisperer', is now banned from Hyde Park's Kensington Gardens and was handed a two-year restraining order against his victims. He told the Mail: 'The great irony is why people had to go to war with me because I hugged the bird? The legal system is so convoluted.'  Fernstedt works out on gym bars he found in the street and can pull off a variety of impressive gymnastic moves for passers by Fernstedt represented himself during the four day trial, where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. His avian passion even led to his discovery of the derelict mansion during one of his daily visits to meet the swans at the nearby Serpentine Lake.  Fernstedt's story continues to be a mystery and is protective about aspects of his life.  When questioned about his childhood by the Daily Mail, he said: 'The best thing for a child is benign neglect.  'It was all the stuff a boy needs, sports, nature and no dangers.'  In answering whether he is happy, he replied: 'Yes I am. I smile a lot, I laugh a lot.  'I'm not running from anything, I'm also not running to everything. I'm not my own enemy.  'I live like I'm retired, I'm not stuck in the past or future.'
