The horse was quickly dismounted on course by jockey Jack Tudor and was assessed at Aintree, before the decision was made to put the horse down.‌The six-year-old's death marks the second fatality at the festival after Gold Dancer was put down after winning the Mildmay Novices' Chase on Friday. Get on George was contesting the William Hill Handicap Hurdle but pulled up after losing his action around the bend.‌After being treated on the track, it has been confirmed the injury he suffered was fatal. ITV host Ed Chamberlin paused his broadcast to say: "Sorry for looking at my phone while you guys were talking there but it is the news about Get On George. He was pulled up and quickly dismounted.‌"Aintree say he was assessed on course by their expert veterinary team and it was decided the best course of action for the horse's welfare was for him to be put down.
