Boy, three, is rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by van at campsite

By WILL HALLOWELL, NEWS REPORTER Published: 18:52, 2 August 2026 | Updated: 18:53, 2 August 2026 A three-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a van at a campsite.  An air ambulance was dispatched to Red House Farm in Earnley, near Chichester, after witnesses dialled 999 at around 7.30pm on Saturday night.  Police have said the toddler was involved in a collision with a van.  The boy has now been taken to hospital for treatment after being seriously injured.  Sussex Police said no arrests have been made. A spokesperson for the force said officers are investigating the incident.  Footage of the incident shows a yellow helicopter departing the scene after landing in a nearby field.  Witnesses reported seeing the air ambulance at around 9pm on Bookers Lane, the scene of the campsite.  A three-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a van at Red House Farm in Earnley, Sussex (pictured), on Saturday night. He has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries Sussex Police and the ambulance service have been approached for comment.  Red House Farm is a four-acre, family-run campsite located around three miles from West Wittering Beach in Chichester.  The site has ten hardstanding electric pitches for caravans and motorhomes and 20 grass electric pitches where tents can also be set up.  Red House Farm also has four 'luxury glamping pods' which can accommodate up to four people.  It is located one mile away from RSPB Medmerry nature reserve.
