Boy, 7, dies after being thrown across field in bouncy castle horror

A seven-year-old boy has tragically died after being thrown from a bouncy castle. Jean Kylian Essombe, a keen footballer, was launched across a field in Hamme, Belgium, when a sudden gust of wind sent the inflatable flying and the youngster reportedly hit a fence and suffered life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews rushed to treat him at the scene before he was taken to AZ Sint-Blasius hospital and later to UZ Gent medical facility but he tragically died just hours later as doctors tried to save him. Three other children were also injured and were taken to hospital for checks. Jean had been watching his older brother play at a youth football tournament called the Youth Cup in Hamme, on Saturday, May 9 when the tragedy happened. It is understood that Jean had been at the tournament to support his brother Louis, who was playing for Wambeek-Ternat’s U10 team. Earlier in the day it is reported that he was playing in another tournament for the same club but for the age group two years younger. Authorities in East Flanders have now opened an investigation into the fatal accident with officials reportedly examining if the bouncy castle had been properly secured and safety rules were followed. SK Wambeek-Ternat made a heartbreaking tribute to the young star: “With deep sadness, we learned the news about Jean. It is hard to comprehend that someone so young and full of life has left us. “Jeanke was not only a talented player, but above all a wonderful friend, always full of enthusiasm and with a smile on his face. We will never forget the joy he shared. Our thoughts are with his parents, his brother Louis, his family and friends at this difficult time.” This is a Breaking News story.
