Boy, 15, killed by falling tree in Stafford pictured as tribute paid to 'special young man'

A 15-year-old boy who was tragically killed by a falling tree in Stafford has been pictured for the first time. Brodan Dubickas, a year 10 pupil at Sir Graham Balfour School, was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragedy at Holmcroft Park, in Stafford, on Saturday May 2. Police, paramedics and an air ambulance had been scrambled to the area at 6.30pm. Sadly, Brodan was pronounced dead around an hour later. A blue tent was seen positioned at the scene inside a police cordon, which remained in place yesterday. Paying tribute to the teenager, his former school, Tillington Manor Primary School, wrote in a post on social media: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to share the devastating news that Brodan Dubickas, a former pupil of Tillington Manor and now a year 10 student at Sir Graham Balfour School, tragically lost his life in an accident at Holmcroft Park. "Although Brodan had moved on from Tillington Manor, he will always remain a valued part of our school family. We know that many within our community will be feeling this loss deeply, and our thoughts are with everyone who knew and cared for him." The tribute added: "We will look to honour and remember Brodan in a way that reflects the impact he had on our school and community, and in liaison with his family, at the right time. [...] Our heartfelt condolences go to Brodan's parents, his family, his friends, and the wider community. They remain very much in our thoughts at this incredibly difficult time." In a statement, Staffordshire Police said nothing could be done to save Brogan after paramedics attended the scene on Saturday. The force said: "A teenage boy has sadly died after being injured by a fallen tree in Stafford. "We were called to Holmcroft Road shortly after the incident was reported to us. Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance. "Tragically, nothing could be done to save the boy. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7.30pm. His next of kin have been informed."
