Bomb disposal team called to residential street
A bomb disposal unit was called to the Welsh coast following reports of an explosive being found in the Sudbrook area. Officers responded to the report at Trinity Close at around 4pm on Thursday evening. Specially trained officers attended the scene and the object was found not to be an explosive. Witnesses have reported that emergency services left the scene at around 8pm. A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We received a call at about 3.50pm on Thursday 4 June reporting that a suspected explosive object had been found on Trinity Close, Sudbrook. "Officers attended, along with specialist trained personnel from the army’s explosive ordnance disposal unit (EOD) who examined the object and confirmed it was not explosive."
