Body recovered from River Avon identified as woman who went missing months agoPolice have identified the body recovered from the river in January as a missing woman who was last seen in November.NewsOlivia Beeson01:43, 08 Apr 2026View ImageA body recovered from a UK river in January has been formally identified as a woman who went missing last November.(Image: Newcastle Chronicle)A body recovered from a UK river in January has been formally identified as a woman who went missing last year.‌The body was found by emergency services from the River Avon at Keynsham on Thursday, January 22.‌Avon and Somerset police have confirmed the body is that of missing 54-year-old Robyn, who was last seen on Friday, November 28, last year in Meadows Lane in Bath.‌Robyn was reported missing on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.Her family has been informed by police, who added that her death is not believed to be suspicious.Enquiries are being carried out on behalf of the coroner according to the force.‌A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “In January, we shared the news that a body had been recovered from the River Avon, near Keynsham.“Significant work has taken place to identify the individual and to inform their next of kin.“Formal identification has now taken place, and we can sadly confirm that the deceased is 54-year-old Robyn who was last seen on Friday 28 November last year in Meadows Lane, in Bath.Article continues below“Robyn was reported missing on Wednesday 17 December.“Her family has been updated, and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this incredibly difficult time."Robyn’s death is not believed to be suspicious, and enquiries are being carried out on behalf of the coroner.”
