Gianluca Prestianni avait reçu une suspension de six matchs, dont trois avec sursis, pour avoir envoyé des propos homophobes au Brésilien. Selon un porte-parole de la FIFA à AS, le comité disciplinaire de la FIFA a décidé d’étendre l’interdiction de six matchs imposée par l’UEFA au joueur du SL Benfica, Gianluca Prestianni, afin qu’elle ait un effet mondial.
La sanction a été étendue conformément à l’article 70 du Code disciplinaire de la FIFA.
