Ollie Bearman admits that Haas were "not quick enough" in the British Grand Prix, and that the American team's lack of pace is "painful". The Briton endured a difficult home event during Sunday's 52-lap race at Silverstone, having been knocked into a spin on the opening lap at Brooklands by Alex Albon. The Williams driver was handed a 10-second penalty for the incident, while Bearman spent the remainder of the race recovering positions and was eventually classified P12. "We've been having some issues of getting consistency on the starts," said Bearman, having slipped down from his starting position of P13. "Yesterday [during Saturday's Sprint] was a good start, today was terrible again and I just went backwards and that put us in a position to get spun around into Brooklands. "After that I was running at the back and then after that, we were just slow, we were not quick enough to overtake. Struggled a lot in the dirty air and then I managed to have a bit of clean air and show some good pace, but still, not quick enough. It's painful." Bearman also expects the team to struggle over the next two weekends in Belgium and Hungary, with no major upgrades planned until after the summer break in August. He added: "We haven't got a whole lot on the horizon unfortunately, so it's going to be a tough two races before the summer break." Haas team mate Esteban Ocon finished behind Bearman in P13, having pitted under the first VSC which lasted only a matter of seconds as an umbrella was retrieved from the track, while the pit stop itself was slow. "Not quite the perfect race let's say but we had a car that was performing normally, without big issues, I didn't have the degradation problem that I had for many races," said Ocon. "I think the mechanics and engineers did a good job on the car, they really improved since the last three or four races. The car is healthy and I could fight, so it was nice. "I enjoyed driving that race and being there and able to fight without some kind of issues that we faced. That was fun but obviously we need a bit more pace to get closer to the points."
