British viewers will be able to see 38 Serie A matches in the 2026/27 season live on the BBC, it has been announced, starting on Sunday with Atalanta vs. Sassuolo.
There had already been some games aired live on BBC Alba in February 2026, with a mixture of English and Gaelic commentary.
Now the scheme has been expanded to also add a further 19 fixtures live on the BBC iPlayer with English commentary provided.
Serie A welcomes British players
The growing number of British and Irish players coming to Serie A has boosted its profile in the UK, and more fans are eager to watch them in action regularly.
England internationals Djed Spence and John Stones have joined Inter, with Curtis Jones expected to follow later this week.
Scotland is represented by the likes of Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour at Napoli, Kieron Bowie and Josh Doig for Sassuolo, and Lewis Ferguson with Bologna.
Cagliari signed former Leeds United midfielder Harry Winks, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek at Milan, Che Adams for Torino, and Udinese’s Lennon Miller.
The first Serie A match to air on BBC Alba and iPlayer this season has Atalanta taking on Sassuolo on Sunday at 19.45 UK time.
