Baby and three people die after car hits trees on A38Image source, GoogleImage caption, Th crash happened on the A38 between the A50 Toyota Island and the A516 in DerbyBySonia KatariaEast MidlandsPublished26 July 2026, 13:22 BSTUpdated 33 minutes agoA baby and three people have died after a car hit trees on a busy dual carriageway in Derby.Emergency services were called after a red Hyundai car left the A38 and crashed into trees - between the A50 Toyota Island and the A516 - at about 23:00 BST on Saturday.Derbyshire Police said the passengers, two women, 18 and 30, and a man, 36, died at the scene. The baby girl was taken to hospital where she died shortly after.The force said the driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to hospital for serious injuries where he remains.
