Australian MP left 'fearing for England' after witnessing 'rude awakening' in multicultural London

An Australian MP said she was left "fearing for England" after experiencing a "rude awakening" in multicultural London.

Pauline Hanson, the leader of right-wing party One Nation, launched a fierce attack over mass immigration, Net Zero and "woke" ideology in the UK during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday.

The London event has attracted the likes of Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and former Prime Minister Liz Truss, both of whom gave talks at the event.

But Ms Hanson admitted that she felt she was visiting "another country" and was unable to even believe she was in England while visiting east London.

The poitician warned that her country was five to 10 years behind the UK in its "decline", treating Britain as a "crystal ball" for Australia's future.

During her speech yesterday, Ms Hanson said: "I went to Tower Hamlets [a multicultural area in east London] just last week.

"Well, wasn’t that a rude awakening to me! I felt I was in another country. I didn’t believe this was England."

She continued: "London? No, thank you. That’s my opinion...

"I see this happening too in some parts of Australia... I fear for England, I really do.

"You were the crystal ball for me to come over here and see what’s happened here. I believe we’re about five to 10 years behind England."

Ms Hanson said people should not apologise "for being white", adding: "I’m sick of hearing about white privilege.

"We are all human beings. We must learn from the mistakes of the past, but we don’t repeat that in reverse now, and I see that happening."

Ms Hanson also warned the UK had been "destroyed" by immigration - and her country was next.

Following a meeting with the MP over the weekend, Mr Farage heaped praise onto the visiting politican.

"She never goes away, she just keeps on going," the leader told the Sydney Morning Herald.

He added that a "political revolution" was taking place in Australia, adding that Ms Hanson was "amazing for what (she's) done to get to the top of the opinion polls".

But Ms Hanson is far from being the only critic of London.

In fact, Donald Trump has an ongoing feud with the city's Labour Mayor, Sir Sadiq Khan, over soaring crime rates and a series of personal jibes.

Last month, the US President told journalists that Sir Sadiq was a "bad person" and a "horrible representative" for Britain.

But the newly-appointed peer attempted to fight back, adding he was "not quite clear why this man appears to have a crush on me".

"You know, all I would say is it could be because I'm the mayor of a progressive, multicultural, liberal, successful city," Sir Sadiq mused.
