Astros' Cristian Javier joins Hunter Brown on IL with Grade 2 shoulder strain

SEATTLE — Another shoulder strain has staggered the Houston Astros’ starting rotation.Imaging on injured right-hander Cristian Javier revealed a Grade 2 right shoulder strain — the same diagnosis given to ace Hunter Brown earlier this week. On Friday, Javier joined Brown on the injured list.The Astros did not reveal a potential timetable for Javier’s return. In announcing Brown’s injury earlier this week, the team said he would “refrain from throwing for a few weeks.” Manager Joe Espada said Brown will be re-evaluated in two weeks, after which his next steps will be determined.Advertisement
