Another two men charged after the alleged kidnap and murder of innocent grandpa Chris Baghsarian

Published: 22:30, 16 June 2026 | Updated: 22:58, 16 June 2026 Two more men have been charged with murder as part of an investigation into the alleged kidnap and murder of Sydney grandfather Chris Baghsarian.  Mr Baghsarian, 85, was kidnapped from his North Ryde home in the early hours of February 13, in what police have described as a case of mistaken identity. His remains were located 11 days later near a golf club in Pitt Town. Four people have previously been charged and remain before the courts.  NSW Police said they had arrested two young men on Tuesday after extensive inquiries. 'Strike force detectives – with assistance of Northwest Metropolitan Operations Support Group – executed a search warrant in Shalvey, where they arrested a 19-year-old man,' NSW Police said in a statement. 'A short time later, strike force detectives arrested a 21-year-old man in Silverwater.' The men were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station and charged with murder and take/detain in company with with intent to ransom occasioning actual bodily harm. They are due to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday. The arrests come nearly two months after a fourth man - 19-year-old Moustafa Ohrok - was charged over Mr Baghsarian's alleged kidnapping and murder. Gerard Andrews, 29, and Daniel Stevens, 24, and Deklin James Donnelly, 23, have also been charged with murder and remain in custody. Court documents detail allegations that Andrews and Stevens transported Mr Baghsarian to a semi-rural makeshift stronghold in Dural, on the city's outskirts.  Police believe the intended target for the abduction was a relative of Sydney businessman Dimitri Stepanyan, who lived on the same street as Mr Baghsarian. Detective Acting Superintendent Marks suspected the target was to be kidnapped in the hope of receiving a ransom reportedly worth $50million. Mr Baghsarian's family previously described the ordeal as a nightmare. They have asked for privacy as they come to grips with the death of their devoted father, brother, uncle and grandfather 'who would never hurt a fly'.
