Andy Burnham 'is the man to get rid of Keir Starmer' after by-election win, Reform MP tells GB News
المصدر: GB News | Source: GB NewsAndy Burnham "is the person to get rid of Keir Starmer" after his Makerfield by-election win, a Reform MP has told GB News.
Speaking to The People's Channel following Mr Burnham's victory, Andrew Rosindell admitted it was "inevitable" that he would bring a "large personal vote" to the ballot box.
The former Mayor of Greater Manchester won the seat with 24,927 votes, opening up a comfortable lead over Reform UK's Robert Kenyon, who secured 15,696 votes.
In his victory speech, Mr Burnham warned Sir Keir that this is the "final chance" for the Labour Government to change.

Reacting to the victory in Makerfield, Mr Rosindell told GB News that Mr Burnham was already "incredibly popular" in the region.
He said: "I do understand that Andy Burnham is incredibly popular in that part of the world.
"It was inevitable that with him standing, having been Mayor of Manchester and very popular in that part of the country, it was inevitable that he was going to bring with him a very large personal vote, which is what has happened this evening."
The Reform MP declared that having won the seat, Mr Burnham is now "the person to get rid of Keir Starmer" and launch a leadership challenge.
He told GB News: "Andy Burnham is the person that can get rid of Keir Starmer.
"And I think a lot of people in Makerfield voted for Andy Burnham, not because they were backing Labour, but because they liked Andy, and they knew that by voting for Andy Burnham, that's the route for getting rid of a very unpopular Prime Minister and changing the Government."
Mr Rosindell was then asked by GB News host Tom Harwood if his party now fears that their local election campaign slogan was "too successful", with Mr Burnham now possibly replacing Sir Keir as Prime Minister.

Tom said: "It now seems probable that in the coming months it will no longer be Keir Starmer's Labour Party.
"They'll have a moment to reintroduce themselves to the nation, to reset, to start afresh and potentially ride up in those polls?"
Mr Rosindell responded: "Look, it happened with the Conservatives changing Prime Ministers and it didn't do them any good, did it?
"People get bored of that actually, in the end. But the reality of this is that the politics isn't going to change. We've still got a very left-wing Labour Party. We've still got red in tooth and claw socialism."
The Reform MP argued: "We've still got all the policies that are driving the economy into the ground, and they're not going to change anything.
"It's the same old Labour Party, and I think Andy Burnham, very quickly, if he gets into No10, Downing Street, will soon become as unpopular as Keir Starmer."
Mr Rosindell suggested that there is "only one alternative" to Sir Keir being challenged by Mr Burnham.
He concluded: "There is only one alternative now. It's either going to be Labour together with Greens, maybe Liberal, some kind of left-wing coalition after the next election, or it will be a Nigel Farage-led Reform UK Government."
