أكّد متحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الأميركية لوكالة" فرانس برس" أن "أي ادعاءات" بأن واشنطن استهدفت قوات الأمن العراقية "كاذبة بشكل قاطع"، وذلك غداة غارة على مستوصف عسكري بغرب العراق خلّفت سبعة قتلى.

وقال المتحدث إن "أي ادعاءات بأن الولايات المتحدة استهدفت قوات الأمن العراقية هي ادعاءات كاذبة بشكل قاطع، وتتعارض مع الشراكة الأميركية العراقية، وتسيء إلى سنوات طويلة من الصداقة والتعاون بين القوات الأميركية والعراقية".

ولم تتهم الحكومة العراقية الولايات المتحدة بشكل مباشر بشنّ الغارة على المستوصف العسكري. غير أنها اعتبرت الاستهداف "جريمة مكتملة الأركان تنتهك القانون الدولي في كل توصيفاته ومحدداته ضمن العلاقات بين الدول وتسيء للعلاقة التي تجمع شعبي العراق والولايات المتحدة الأميركية".
