Accused fake lawyer who allegedly swindled more than $650,000 from property investors is hit with dozens of charges - as police seize jewellery worth millions

The man, 51, allegedly took $652,350 from three men and three women between March 2023 and June 2026. NSW Police began investigating the alleged fraud in January 2026 after receiving a tip about an alleged property investment scam.   Officers alleged the 51-year-old used fake financial and legal documents to deceive alleged victims into handing over their hard-earned cash. NSW Police raided a unit on Bayswater Road in Potts Point, inner-east Sydney, about 7am on Tuesday. Footage showed several armed officers from the Central Metropolitan Region Operations Support Group ODIN assisted investigators. Officers allegedly seized 60 luxury watches and more than 100 items of jewellery with an estimated value of over $2.5million. The 51-year-old man was marched outside in handcuffs and had his pockets searched before he was put in the back of a police car. He was accused of 14 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, 15 counts of using false document to obtain financial advantage and deal with property proceeds of crime greater than or equal to $100,000.
