UAE intercepts 15 missiles, 11 drones today


Today morning, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that UAE air defences successfully intercepted incoming missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. Authorities added that the situation remains under close monitoring and urged the public to rely solely on official government sources for updates.

On Thursday, UAE air defences intercepted 15 ballistic missiles and 11 drones from Iran. Since the start of Iran’s aggression, UAE air defences have successfully intercepted 372 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,826 UAVs.

Casualties and broader impact

The latest Abu Dhabi incident raises the UAE’s total death toll from missile and UAV debris to 11, with today’s strike claiming two lives and injuring three others.

The attacks have also led to the martyrdom of two UAE armed forces members on duty, a Moroccan civilian contracted by the armed forces, and the deaths of eight civilians from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India.

Additionally, 169 people sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe, including citizens from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, the Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its readiness to address any threats, confront challenges decisively, and safeguard the UAE’s security, stability, sovereignty, and national interests.
