Subscribe to read this story ad-free Get unlimited access to ad-free articles and exclusive content.The officers were helping to disperse a large crowd at 3:20 a.m. when a blue vehicle traveling westbound in an eastbound lane hit them, the Chicago Police Department said.The car allegedly mounted a curb and then hit a police patrol car, a utility pole and a fence before coming to a stop. Police said they arrested an uninjured 18-year-old male; charges are pending.Police said they recovered a weapon from the vehicle. The department described its statement as preliminary and offered no additional details.All five officers were taken to area hospitals and listed in fair condition.
