Büyükelçi Gönenli, dünyanın giderek daha belirsiz ve kırılgan bir güvenlik ortamına sürüklendiğini söyledi. Türkiye'nin Ukrayna-Rusya Savaşı'nda diplomasi ve diyalogdan yana tutum aldığını belirten Gönenli, "Müzakere yoluyla elde edilecek bir barışın uzun süreli çatışma ve savaşa her zaman tercih edilmesi gerektiğine samimiyetle inanıyoruz." dedi. Gönenli, Türkiye'nin Karadeniz güvenliği konusunda Montrö Sözleşmesi temelinde dengeli ve ilkeli bir politika izlediğini dile getirerek, Karadeniz Tahıl Girişimi'nin savaş döneminde diplomasinin somut sonuçlar üretebildiğini gösterdiğini kaydetti. Türkiye'nin NATO'nun caydırıcılık ve savunma faaliyetlerine önemli katkılar sunduğunu vurgulayan Gönenli, Türkiye'nin Balkanlar'daki NATO misyonlarına en fazla katkı veren ilk üç müttefik arasında yer aldığını, ağustos ayından itibaren Estonya'daki NATO hava polisliği misyonunu desteklemek amacıyla F-16 savaş uçakları göndereceğini bildirdi. Gönenli, "Büyüyen savunma sanayimiz sadece bir endüstriyel başarı öyküsü değil, coğrafyamızın ve güvenlik ortamımızın gerçekleriyle şekillenen stratejik bir gerekliliktir. Savunma sanayi ekosistemimiz daha yenilikçi, daha dirençli ve giderek daha işbirlikçi hale gelmiştir." değerlendirmelerinde bulundu. AB'nin güvenlik ve savunma alanındaki çabalarının NATO'yu tamamlayıcı nitelikte olması ve Türkiye dahil AB üyesi olmayan müttefikleri dışlamaması gerektiğini aktardı. Büyükelçi Ossowski de AB'nin güvenlik ve savunma alanında daha güçlü bir aktör olabilmek için yeni bir güvenlik stratejisi üzerinde çalıştığını söyledi. Rusya-Ukrayna Savaşı'nın Avrupa için bir "uyandırma çağrısı" olduğunu belirten Ossowski, AB'nin Ukrayna'ya 90 milyar avro destek sağlayacağını ve üye ülkelerin savunma sanayilerini geliştirmeleri amacıyla 150 milyar avroluk kredi mekanizması oluşturduğunu ifade etti. Ossowski, Türkiye'nin NATO'nun en büyük ikinci ordusuna sahip olduğuna vurgu yaparak, "Türkiye çok önemli bir ortak ve çok önemli bir müttefik." dedi. Türkiye'nin savunma sanayisindeki gelişimine dikkati çeken Ossowski, savunma sanayi ihracatının bu sektörde ne kadar rekabetçi hale geldiğini gösterdiğini söyledi. Ossowski, "Amerikan ortaklarımızın Orta Doğu'ya çok fazla odaklandığı, kendimizi ve ortaklarımızı yeniden silahlandırmak için yeni malzeme, yeni ekipman satın almamız gerektiği bir dönemde, Türkiye elbette tercih edilecek bir ortak olmalı." görüşünü paylaştı. Türkiye'nin bölgede ve bölge dışında artan rolüne işaret eden Ossowski, "Türkiye, Suriye, Ermenistan-Azerbaycan, Orta Doğu, hatta Afrika, Somali ve Sahel bölgeleri konularında çok önemli bir jeostratejik oyuncu.
